DIY GLITTER TASSEL KEYRING

We made these Glitter Bag tassels recently at The Craft and Cocktail Club and I cant help falling in love with them more and more ever since. These are so easy and soo cheap to make, you no longer have an excuse for staring at the £30 Kate Spade alternative! Make one of these babies ASAP!

Plus the love doesn’t stop there, everywhere I go with one of these on my bag someone gives me a compliment to which I reply very smugly “I made it myself!”

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 20x20cm Square Glitter Fabric ( I bought mine from Paper and String and cannot recommend them enough!)

  • All Purpose Adhesive

  • Keyring

  • Scissors

STEP ONE:

Take your fabric square and cut two centimetre width lengths off of the top of your square.

STEP TWO:

Put the two strips of fabric to the side. The start cutting the fringing into the big piece of fabric.

Cut 5mm strips up the fabric, stopping about a centimetre from the top.

STEP THREE:

Take on of the long strips you cut earlier and your keyring. Fold the strip of fabric in half and thread it through the keyring. Glue the fabric together, leaving a loop closest to the keyring.

STEP FOUR:

Turn over the fringed piece of fabric and glue the key ring to the top edge leaving a centimetre at the top.

STEP FIVE:

Tightly roll up the tassel, glueing as you go.

STEP SIX:

Use the leftover strip of fabric to neaten up the edges, wrap it around the top of the tassel, cut off and excess and glue into place.

Hold it tightly together to ensure it is firmly glued.

Attach to your bag and wait for the compliments to start flooding in!
