DIY GEOMETRIC NECKLACE

I love Fusible beads; We used to play with them a lot when we were younger, so it seems only right to bring them back as an adult! I was desperate to make an appearance in the Glittery Hands Box, so when I came across these glittery ones it seemed right to add them to the May box.

These beads have so many uses ( yep I’ve got a Pinterest board dedicated to them here!), Coasters, keyrings, decor, but I decided jewellery was what I wanted to make this month! So here’s how to DIY a Geometric Fusible Bead Necklace. Loosely inspired by the phases of the moon (got to keep it cosmic!)

YOU WILL NEED:

• Nabbi Glitter Fusible beads*

• Circle Peg board*

• Iron

• Baking Paper

• 5mm Jump Rings x4

• Silver Necklace 18″

• Pliers

STEP ONE:

Create a semi circle on the peg board using the blue beads. I used the 4th ring in to create my semi-circle.

Use 13 beads on the outside and 10 on the inside.

STEP TWO:

Create an arrow using the clear beads. Start at the centre with 1 bead, on the next row add 2, then 3, then 4 then 5 beads. On the next row add one bead at each end.

STEP THREE:

Strike up your iron! Lay some baking paper on top of your peg board, then iron very gently until the beads have fused together. Don’t hold for too long, you still want the beads to have holes in!

STEP FOUR:

Grab your pliers, jump rings and necklace. Split the necklace at the front centre then use a jump ring to attach to the end beads of the semi-circle. Close the jump ring using the pliers.

STEP FIVE:

Grab two more Jump rings and use them to join the arrow to the semi-circle. Attach the ends beads of the arrow to the 4th/5th bead in on the bottom of the semi-circle.

STEP SIX:

Pop your necklace on and strut around like the queen of the town!
