DIY FELT CROWN CRACKER HATS

I noticed recently that Kirstie Allsopp had made some felt party hats, and thought I needed to jump on the bandwagon. We are making our own crackers this year, filling them with a little £1 present for someone else on the table, Like a cracker secret Santa! So when I saw these felt hats I thought what a lovely idea, they will last for years, no more complaining about what colour hat you got and now more tissue hats breaking or ending up falling off into your Christmas dinner, these are the perfect alternative!

I found Glittery Felt in Hobbycraft, but you could always add your own decoration after or choose plain felt for the boring people who don’t love glitter as much!

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Glittery Felt (Find it here!)

  • Glue Gun

  • Scissors

STEP ONE:

Fold a piece of A4 sheet of felt, in half horizontally to make two long lengths of felt.

STEP TWO:

Lay the felt pieces on top of each other, then cut triangles about 5cm in depth along the top of the felt pieces.

STEP THREE:

Use the glue gun to glue the two pieces together on both sides.

Why not roll up your felt party hats and pop them inside homemade crackers?
