Hey Party Crafters! You know I couldn’t go without putting those fun sequins into a shaker card. This month’s box is filled with bright, fun, patterned paper that screams “Come party with me!”
When I saw the silver glitter paper, it reminded me of a disco ball, so that’s where my inspiration for this card came from. It wouldn’t be complete without that gorgeous holographic polaroid frame; which I used in a much different way then I have done before.
Directions:
Start by using your stamping platform, I used my MISTI, to stamp the provided clear stamp from your box onto a sheet of acetate with black ink. It’s best to use an ink that dries fast like Stazon. I like using my MISTI for all my stamping projects because it ensure that you get a solid coverage of ink. This sheet will be used with the holographic polaroid frame.
Then, using a circular die cut, create your card background from the pink disco paper. Cut out a large enough square from the silver glitter paper that will fit within the circle, and cut another sheet of acetate that is about the same size as your card.
To create the shaker element, adhere the silver glitter paper to the card base, line the edges of the card base with double sided foam tape, then fill the center with those gorgeous purple and silver sequins. Next, place the acetate sheet onto to secure the sequins, and then adhere the pink disco paper on top.
To create the frame, simply cut the stamped sheet of acetate so that it fits within the open part of the holographic frame and adhere with glue. Place this frame at an angle in the middle of the card. Lastly, add a torn strip of the orange record paper across the bottom of the frame.
How fun is this disco shaker card?! I love how the silver glitter paper with the sequins acts as an abstract disco ball, and the use of stamped acetate creates a fun illusion. I hope you’re enjoying this months box as much as I am, and I can’t wait to see what you create.
