DIY DECOUPAGE FRAMES

I find decoupage a really calming craft and a great way to upcycle items to give them a new lease of life. For this Decoupage frame tutorial, I'm stepping you through how to decoupage!

Such a simple and cheap craft! I used some free papers from a magazine for my frame, but you could decoupage with comic book pages, book pages, or even pages you have printed out!

YOU WILL NEED:

-Blank wooden frames (I got mine from Baker Ross)

-PVA Glue or Modge Podge

-Paintbrush

-Decorative papers I used the free papers inside Mollie Makes Magazine.

STEP ONE:

Rip up your papers into small pieces, the smaller the pieces the easier it will be to decoupage corners and edges.

Cut out any shapes you would like to layer on top.

STEP TWO:

Take apart your frame, so that you only have the frame to work with, put the back and glass pieces aside for later.

Get glueing! Spread a good amount of glue onto a section of your frame, work in sections so that the glue doesn't dry before you get to it.

Start adding pieces of paper, adding glue on top of each piece as you lay it down.

STEP THREE:

Continue adding bits of paper and glue until the whole of the frame is complete, The more glue the better!

If you want to add any cut-out pieces glue them on now, then cover the whole frame with another layer of glue.

STEP FOUR:

Wait for the frame to completely dry before reassembling it and adding a photo!
