Perfect Crafts To Take Travelling

April 26, 2019

Going away and want to take a craft project with you?

I've put together a list of crafts that are perefct for travelling with. Many of these are great for crafting on the airplane, in the airport, in the car and even on the beach!

1. Embroidery.

Embroidery is perfect for travelling, it's also the perefct calming craft for busy and hectic travelling schedules.

Pre plan your project and only take the threads you need, to make it even easier pre cut some lengths of thread so you don't get all tied up on route!

Have your material ready on a light weight embroidery hoop, that way it will stay flat and safe in transit.

Take a small pair of scissors, but remember to check with your airline for what size you can take.

2. Pom Pom making.

The repetitive action of pom pom making is another perfect craft that takes up little space and is perfect when you have time to kill.

Maybe leave the trimming until you get home  or take a little bag to collect the mess- otherwise i'm not sure your travel companions will thank you for covering them in tiny wool bits!

3. Cross stitch

Especially cross stitching onto a wooden piece! Even better you can use a plastic needle so wont have any trouble at security!

 4.Colouring in

Grab yourself the cutest colouring in book you own and your fav pens and pencils and get colouring!

5. Friendship bracelets

Making friendship bracelets is the perfect way to pass some time and create a cute holiday memento.

You'll only need a few skeins of embroidery thread and some strong tape, tape your threads down on the tray table and get knotting and plaiting!

6. Travel Scrapbook

Pre prep your travel scrapbook so that all of the hard work is done for you and you aren't trying to transport scrapbook papers on the go!

put together a little kit of pens, a few embellishments, stickers, glue, tape and a mini photo printer and you can document your trip as it happens!

Happy holidays crafty babes!
