DIY Paper Tea Cup

May 31, 2018

Hey crafters!  Laura here with another creation from my May Glittery Hands Box.

I loved the little template Emma included in the kit – super cute!

I’ve used two thick patterned papers back to back so it is quite a substantial thickness.  Tea cups remind me of my Granma who had quite a collection. Lots of hers had gold rims so I thought I’d have a go at recreating this effect.  I used a sticky ink called Versamark and some embossing powder. The powder sticks to the ink and you heat it up with a heat gun tool and it melts leaving you with a raised glossy finish.

To style the tea cup we need a tea bag... a little lace, a running stick a some sequin tea leaves – and the all important biscuits... I asked my Pet Crocheter (that’s my Mum; I fail big time at crochet!) what she could do and she came back 20 minutes later with a chocolate cookie and a jammy dodger!

I was wondering about a practical use for this cute little cup and thought about a small container inside to hold some handpicked flowers – so cute!
