So what is Cricut Joy all about? Well let me introduce you to the newest and smallest member of the Cricut family.
The Cricut Joy is simple and compact, it's perfect for quick everyday projects. It's small design makes it easy to move around and take along with you.
With Cricut Joy comes new possibilities, we can now cut an image up to 4ft in length and cut repeated images on material up to 20ft long, with new smart materials that cut without a mat.
The new card mat enables us to be able to make quick cards and pushes our card making to the next level.
The big thing I've noticed after using my Joy is how portable it is, It's so light and small I find myself using it all over the house, I've even used it in hotel rooms! it takes up so little space! There is also the option of its super cute bag, which in my opinion is a must have for taking it on your travels.
WHAT DOES THE CRICUT JOY COME WITH?
In the box with your Cricut Joy you will find:
-Cricut Joy machine

Cricut Joy can cut 50+ materials, with a maximum width of 4.5inches and a max length of 20ft!
Smart material are materials that Cricut Joy can cut without a mat. Previously with all other Cricut machines we needed to add materials to a sticky mat to keep them in place during cutting, with the new smart materials the Cricut Joy can cut them without needing a mat! This means that we can now cut up to 20ft of material.
Smart materials come in:
- Removable Vinyl
- Permanent vinyl
The new card mat for the Cricut Joy means that we can now cut and make cards with ease. A card blank can be folded around the card mat so that the machine will only cut the front of the card, we can then slide in a card insert to complete a card in a couple of minutes.
-Materials and Scraps
The Cricut Joy comes with a green standard grip mat which means it's able to cut over 50 materials you already use with your other machines. It's particularly great for using small scraps of material.
The following materials are among others able to be cut on Cricut Joy:
-Iron on Mesh
-Mosaic Iron on
-Faux leather (paper thin)
-Adhesive deluxe paper
PENS AND BLADES
Cricut Joy has it's own blades and pens that are not compatible with the Maker or Explore air 2 machines. The blades and pens are much smaller, which enables the Joy to be so much smaller and more portable than any machine before it!
There are lots of pens in the compatible range, including Glitter pens, metallic pens and infusible ink pens all of which the Joy can draw or write with.
WHO IS CRICUT JOY FOR?
Cricut Joy is perfect for non crafters, it's the perfect machine to get out for DIYs around the home, for last minute projects, on the way out of the door cards and handmade touches. It's a great machine for families, for school projects and for forgotten about dressing up days and costume parties!
Cricut Joy makes the perfect addiction to your own Cricut family if you already own a machine, Joy is perfect for taking on the go, taking along to workshops, craft fairs and sharing the Cricut love with your friends.
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT TO THE EXPLORE AIR 2 AND THE MAKER?

The main differences are the amount of materials you can cut, which due to it's size is less for the Cricut Joy. Print and Cut is also not available for Cricut Joy. There are also less blades and tools for the Cricut Joy which makes it super simple to use.
