DIY INFUSIBLE INK CUSHION | CRICUT

Updated: Jan 11, 2023

New to Infusible Ink? This super cute cushion is a great project to start with and make your home super cosy!

Infusible Ink creates a finish that will last, no peeling or scratching off and completely washable. Grab your Cricut cushion blank and lets get making!

YOU WILL NEED:

- Butcher Paper (Comes Inside Your Infusible Ink Transfer Pack) or Baking Paper

- Cricut Cushion Blank

STEP ONE:

Open a new project in Cricut Design Space and choose some cute motifs to have on your cushion. Select the image and then click either attach or weld to make it into a single colour cut.

STEP TWO:

Resize the image to around 8x8 inches, click 'Make It' and mirror the image. It is important when using Infusible Ink to double check your design is smaller than the plate of your Easy Press. Choose Infusible Ink from the materials list.

STEP THREE:

Lay the Infusible Ink transfer sheet face-up on the mat, then load it into the machine and start cutting. Once the cut is complete, remove the sheet from the mat.

STEP FOUR:

Cut around the image then crack each sheet between your fingertips and then weed away the bits that aren't part of your design.

STEP FIVE:

Set up your Easy Press mat on a hard, flat surface. Lay a piece of paper onto the mat to protect it. Heat up your Easy Press to 205’C and lay down your cushion blank onto the mat, ensure it is completely flat with no creases. Lint roll your cushion blank if possible to remove any stray fibres and dust.

STEP SIX:

Add the weeded design to the middle of the cushion blank, putting the coloured side down. Cover the sheet with a piece of the butcher paper that came inside your transfer sheet pack and press for 40 seconds.

TOP TIP:

Butcher paper is the same as baking parchment and makes a great alternative if you run out of butcher paper.

STEP SEVEN:

Once the layer is cooled, peel away the butcher paper and transfer sheet to reveal your design on your cushion!

Fill the case with a cushion filler and snuggle up with it on the sofa!
